IIT Roorkee gives admission on the basis of rank that I have got in JEE Advanced (Joint Entrance Exam). Then, I had to apply for seats in colleges on the JOSAA website. The process was relatively smooth.

My course is chemical engineering. I had an interest in physics, and also chemical engineering deals with scaling aspects of chemistry. This intrigues me. The faculty here at IIT Roorkee is very good. They have good knowledge of their field.

Mess food was a little bit not good in 1st year.

I gave the jee advanced exam for being eligible to take admitted to IIT, moreover, I qualified for jee mains for being eligible to sit in jee advanced exam which means jee mains is the first basic step you need to qualify. We can find the application form for it on the official website of josaa. Its dates are released in advance and fees are 1000 per paper. If you are an eligible candidate for reservation you can get a better option even with fewer marks. The admission process was overall good and smoothly conducted.

The course curriculum of IIT ROORKEE is much better than any other IIT if considered for the same branch, this was one reason I opted for it. Moreover, it was the best option for me at my performance or rank. Faculties are also well experienced. There is no problem in the teaching method and even you are provided with doubt facilities by the respective faculty. If teaching is good obviously exams will be of better level means it is a bit tough.

The Course Curriculum At Iitr Is Intensive And Industry Relevant. I Chose Metallurgy For 2 Reasons. Firstly It Was My Rank And Secondly, I Was Quite Interested In Studying Material Science Since My +2. Faculty Student Ratio Is Decent Here. All The Profs Are Well Qualified With Phds From International Universities. There Are Two Exams Per Semester And The Toughness Is Greater Than That Of Jee Advanced.

Admission process, cutoff and placement in IIT Roorkee

As previously it was civil engineering college so it's infrastructure is quite impressive,
Our department faculties are helping nature reason being they are young and can relate with us.

Dislikes:
Rajendra Bhawan mess is not as good as other hostels so first year btech students might face a problem with that.,
Girls and boys ratio is quite low it is around 1:4 to 1:5

Yes, to taking admitted to IIT you need to give the entrance exam that JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Jee mains is held two times a year firstly in January and secondly in April whereas Jee Advanced is held once in May. Jee mains are 300 marks in which physics, chemistry and maths are equally divided.

IIT Roorkee has an industrial-used curriculum also this IIT Roorkee changes its course curriculum and makes it more and more industrial touch. Whereas if I say about faculty members then some very best professors and some are average and some have rude behaviour but not in educational qualification in educational qualification are professors are highly qualified.

An honest IIT Roorkee Review.

Likes:
I really like the campus along with the life it comes with. Green and lush campus.,
I really like all the sports facilities and all the canteen food (its cheap and good).,
I really like the place too. You can go visit place Mussoorie, Shimla, Manali In vacations because its all in about 200-300 km radius.

Dislikes:
I really hate Curriculum, Mess food, Hostels.,
The campus is not too big. If you keep walking it just ends in an hour.,
I really dislike the teaching methods of professors.

The entrance exam is JEE Advanced. You have to clear JEE mains to qualify for that. 75% marks in 12th grade is a requirement. Reservation is given on a caste basis such as- EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and also 20% reservation is for female candidates.

The curriculum is fine. Not great not bad. You are taught a bunch of unnecessary subjects along with your main curriculum. The professors are not great. They are experts in their own fields but they don't know how to teach. They are all highly qualified but teaching methods are just too orthodox. Exams are conducted in midterms and End terms per semester.

The Infrastructure is just amazing. The James thomson builing which is the main attraction of IIT Roorkee

Dislikes:
The hostels. Hostel in IIT Roorkee is just average (not so good not so baad).,
The mess and the food here is also just average,
Senior junior relation is just too formal.

JEE Main and JEE Advance are the National level exams conducted every year in India for admission into undergraduate engineering programmes offered by various prestigious institutes including IITs. The form for the JEE Mains can be found on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting body for JEE Mains. A candidate who passed the 10+2 examination or equivalent is eligible for JEE Main exam. After getting qualified in JEE mains and being among the top 2.5 laks candidates who qualified in JEE Main are eligible for JEE Advance. I choose this course because it's a dual degree so I'll have my Mtech done in just 5 years. And I wanted to explore this field. Also In future, I will like to do field work and this course is perfect for field work jobs. About the faculty here the thing is the faculty is so experienced and talented. IIT's faculty: student ratio is very good. And also the TA's: student ratio is quite nice as compared to the other colleges. The faculty qualification is very much satisfying for the students here. The faculty here also has so much experience, there are some professors who are teaching here for more than 20 years. Also that the professor here have experienced everything in their life as they had been in jobs, research etc. So they have explored all fields. The Alumni of our college are just mind-blowing. Our professors have patents in almost every field. About the exams, there are 2 exams in a semester one is mid-term and the second is End term. It's easy to pass exams but.

There is no specific age limit. However, candidates should have passed the qualifying examination, such as 10+2 or equivalent, in the year of the JEE Advanced. Candidates must have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additionally, they should have scored a minimum percentage, as specified by the institute. Candidates can be Indian nationals or foreign nationals. Candidates must first appear for the JEE Main examination, which is conducted by the NTA. Candidates who qualify for the cutoff in the JEE Main are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. By The 12Th Class, I Have Developed an Interest In Physics. Faculty: Student Ratio is 10:1. They Are Very Much Qualified. All Are PhD Holders In Their Respective Subjects. All The Exams Were On Time But Due To Corona Exams Got Rescheduled. Exams Difficulty is Moderate.

IIT Roorkee- Dream come true?

Likes:
student activity center and sports facilities are nice.,
faculties are very helpful and easily approachable.,
Good international relations through a cell named IARC.

Dislikes:
The mess food is not good in terms of taste.,
Some of the hostels are very old and very conjusted.,
Triple and double sharing rooms are also there, which are not good.

The admission process starts from JEE Mains. A person has to clear JEE Mains to sit in JEE Advanced. The cutoff for General category in JEE Mains revolves around 90 percentile. Then the person can sit in JEE Advanced and based on the rank gets the college.

The course curriculum is very modern including some projects and some really interesting subjects such as monetary economics, public finance, statistics, etc. The faculty is very helpful. The faculty-student ratio is 1:3.

All about IIT Roorkee

Likes:
The sports facilities are very good and maintained,
Campus clubs are very helpful and skill developing,
Professors are easily approachable and helpful

Dislikes:
The mess food is somewhat not good tastewise,
The hostels do not allow for keeping coolers, which makes summers bad

Admission to the college is done through JEE Advanced. To sit in JEE Advanced one needs to sit in JEE mains and clear it. The clearing cutoff for the general category is the 90 percentile. Then after giving JEE Advanced the admission is done through JoSSA counselling.

The course curriculum is very interesting and it includes many real-time projects that come with true learning. There are 13 faculties with 36 students. The exams are not that difficult. They are held twice per semester.
