Aleya Kassam is a Kenyan feminist, storyteller, writer and performer, whose work explores narratives from the margins. As a compulsive writer, she is widely experimental with form, from page to stage, screen to speaker, micro fiction to memory poems, docu theatre to participatory filmmaking, blogs to twitter threads - she loves to play with the ways people experience a story.
A compulsive creative, her writing has been performed and published on multiple platforms and stages around the world, from Nairobi to Kigali to Stuttgart. As the ‘A’ in The LAM Sisterhood, she delights in telling stories that seek truth beauty and freedom, so that African women feel seen and beloved, such as the award winning stage show Brazen.
